Dog With No Paws Finds Hope With 3D Printed Legs

Dog With No Paws Finds Hope With 3D Printed Legs

A tech company located in South Carolina has successfully created 3D printed legs for Derby the dog. The innovative legs allow Derby to run down the street for the first time. It is such a happy and surprising moment for Derby and his family.

“When I saw him sprinting like that on his new legs it was just amazing.” Dom Portanova

Derby was born deformed with small forearms and no front paws. With 3D Systems becoming more popular they were able to design and build the prosthetics.

A certified Orthotist at Animal Ortho Care in Chantilly, VA, and 3DS designers, were able to use data of Derby’s forearms to create the 3D design. Since the adoption of 3D prosthetic, Derby can now run with his parents.
