Girl Raises $15K and Rebuild Parents’ Burned Home

Girl Raises $15K and Rebuild Parents’ Burned Home

Two years ago a fire wrecked the De La Sala family's Florida home. Once the insurance money came, it was given to a builder who left without completing the job. Since then her parents are still struggling.

“Now my mommy and daddy are stuck trying to come up with enough money to finish it so we can finally get home,” wrote Alyssa De La Sala

Alyssa decided to get things done and opened a lemonade stand to raise money on her own. With the help of her brother, they were able to get free advertisements from radio hosts. They started selling home baked cupcakes with the lemonade.

Since so many people showed up, police were sent to direct traffic.

“She took it upon herself to do something to help mommy and daddy, I don’t think she expected it to be anything like this,” Alyssa’s mother, Jenn De La Sala told WFTS-TV.

A GoFundMe campaign was created to collect donations. Between the success of the lemonade stand so far and her GoFundMe campaign, she has raised $15,000.
